Yes, I offer online sessions in order to reach clients from all over the world. Online sessions are conducted via Zoom, allowing you to receive support from the comfort of your own home.

A typical session begins with a discussion of your current concerns and goals. We then use a combination of cognitive-behavioural techniques and hypnosis to address these issues. You will be guided into a relaxed state where we can work on changing unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours, reinforcing positive suggestions, and practicing coping strategies.

Each session typically lasts for 60 minutes with the exception of the initial assessment session which lasts for 90 minutes.

Yes, I provide hypnotherapy sessions specifically designed for childbirth preparation (hypnobirthing). These sessions help you manage fears and anxieties related to labour, build confidence in your body’s ability to give birth, and teach relaxation techniques that can be used during childbirth.

There’s no special preparation needed for a hypnotherapy session. Come with an open mind and a willingness to relax. I will guide you through the process and help you feel comfortable.

Hypnotherapy is not suitable for individuals with severe cardiovascular conditions, epilepsy, psychosis or schizophrenia, dissociative disorders, severe depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), severe anxiety or panic disorders, borderline personality disorder, active substance use issues. In such cases it is advisable to see your GP for help.

Questions about My Approach

My approach is unique because it combines cognitive-behavioural therapy’s structured, goal-oriented strategies with hypnosis, mindfulness, hypnobirthing and the law of attraction. Additionally, as a mother myself, I bring personal experience and empathy to my practice, allowing me to connect with my clients on a deeper level and provide tailored support during the transformative period of pregnancy and early motherhood.

Every client is unique, and I believe that therapy should reflect that. During our initial consultation, I take the time to understand your specific needs, concerns, and goals (treatment plan). I then tailor each session to address your unique situation, using techniques and strategies that are most likely to be effective for you.

No, you will not be unconscious or out of control during hypnosis. Hypnosis is a state of focused attention and deep relaxation, similar to daydreaming. Some people also like to compare it with meditation. You will be fully aware of your surroundings and in control of your actions at all times. You can bring yourself out of hypnosis at any moment if you choose.

Most people can be hypnotised, especially in a therapeutic setting where the environment is calm and the therapist is skilled. If you find it difficult to relax or focus, I can work with you to find the best approach to help you enter hypnosis.

Creating a safe and comfortable environment is a top priority in my practice. I strive to build a trusting relationship with my clients, ensuring they feel heard, respected, and supported. I use gentle and compassionate techniques, always working at a pace that feels right for you.

Getting started is easy! You can contact me to schedule a free initial consultation call where we’ll discuss your needs and how cognitive-behavioural hypnotherapy can help you. From there, we can develop a personalised plan and begin working together towards your goals. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, stress, anger, sleep issues, pain or other challenges related to pregnancy or motherhood, I’m here to support you on your journey.

Myths: Common Myths About Hypnosis

1. Myth: Hypnosis is mind control or brainwashing.

Reality: Hypnosis is not mind control or brainwashing. You cannot be made to do anything against your will or that goes against your values during hypnosis. You remain fully aware and in control throughout the process, and you can choose to reject any suggestions you don’t agree with.

3. Myth: Hypnosis can make you reveal secrets.
Reality:

Hypnosis cannot force you to reveal anything you don’t want to share. You won’t say or do anything under hypnosis that you wouldn’t do in a fully conscious state. You retain full control over your thoughts and actions during the entire process.

5. Myth: Hypnosis is dangerous.

Reality: Hypnosis is a safe and natural therapeutic tool when conducted by a trained professional. It is used to help people with a wide range of issues, from managing stress and anxiety to overcoming phobias and breaking unhealthy habits. There are no known harmful side effects when hypnosis is used appropriately in therapy.

7. Myth: Hypnosis is a form of magic or the supernatural.

Reality: Hypnosis is not magic or connected to the supernatural. It is a scientifically recognised technique that uses the power of suggestion to create positive change in the mind and body. Hypnotherapy is grounded in psychology and is used as a legitimate therapeutic tool.

2. Myth: You can get stuck in hypnosis.
Reality:

It is impossible to get stuck in hypnosis. Hypnosis is a natural state, and even if a hypnotherapist were to stop guiding you, you would naturally come out of hypnosis on your own. You are always in control and can bring yourself out of the hypnotic state at any time.

4. Myth: Only weak-minded people can be hypnotised

Reality: Hypnosis is not about being weak-minded. In fact, people who are open-minded, focused, and willing to engage in the process are often more responsive to hypnosis. It’s a skill that can be developed, much like meditation or mindfulness.

6. Myth: Hypnosis can make you do embarrassing things.

Reality: Hypnotherapy is a professional and therapeutic process, unlike the stage hypnosis you might see in entertainment settings. In a clinical setting, the focus is on helping you achieve your goals and improve your well-being. You won’t be asked to do anything embarrassing or out of character.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR CONSULTATION this way:

1. Health and Medical Review:
Your safety and well-being are my top priorities. During our initial consultation, we’ll go through a health and medical history form. This allows me to identify any potential contraindications to hypnotherapy and ensures that we can proceed safely. It’s important to discuss any current or past medical conditions, medications, or concerns you may have so that we can tailor the approach to suit your needs.

2. Understanding Your Goals:
We’ll take some time to discuss the presenting issue that brings you to hypnotherapy. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, stress, fear, or another challenge, I’m here to listen and understand your specific situation. You’ll also have the opportunity to outline the goals you hope to achieve through our sessions. This helps us to focus our work together on what matters most to you.

3. Ask Any Questions:
This is your time to ask any questions you may have about the hypnotherapy process, my approach, or what you can expect from our sessions. I encourage you to voice any concerns or curiosities—no question is too small or too big. My goal is to ensure you feel fully informed and confident in your decision to begin hypnotherapy.

4. Introduction to Hypnotherapy:
I’ll provide a brief overview of what hypnotherapy is and how it works. We’ll discuss how hypnosis can be used to access the mind, reinforce positive changes, and help you achieve your goals. I’ll also explain how cognitive-behavioural techniques are integrated into the process, giving you a clear understanding of the tools and strategies we’ll use.

5. Next Steps:
If, after our consultation, we both feel that hypnotherapy is a good fit for you, we’ll discuss the next steps. This includes setting up your first session, outlining a preliminary plan, and answering any remaining questions you might have about the process.
